SNCU

Intervention - Sick Newborn Care Units



        An initiative to improve the quality of facility based newborn care.
       SNCUs are special newborn units in larg shospitals generally at district level meant to reduce the case fatality among sick newborns, wither bron within the hospital or outside including home delivery.
        The SNCU treatment and training centre also acts as the teaching and training hub for imparing skills of newborn care.
        9 SNCUs has been made functional in Rajasthan, MP and Odisha, 4 more will be operationalized by the end of this year in Bihar and MP
       NIPI works with Newborn Child Resource Centre in Kolkata, which has developed guidelines and a #D guide for SNCU construction.
